Refund Policy

At Build Your English Academy, we understand that schedules and circumstances can change. We aim to make cancellations, rescheduling, and refund requests as straightforward and flexible as possible.

Individual Lessons

Students may cancel or reschedule an individual lesson without charge by providing at least 2 hours’ notice.

If a student cancels with less than 2 hours’ notice or misses a lesson without providing notice, the student will be responsible for 50% of the regular lesson price.

For example, if the lesson normally costs $35, the student will be charged $17.50.

If the lesson was prepaid, Build Your English Academy may:

Refund 50% of the lesson price;
Apply 50% of the lesson price as a credit toward a future lesson; or
Deduct half of one lesson from an existing package.

Reasonable exceptions may be made for emergencies or unexpected circumstances.

If Build Your English Academy cancels a lesson, the student may reschedule it at no additional cost or receive a full refund for that lesson.

Lesson Packages

Students may request a refund for a lesson package after completing the first lesson, provided that the request is made at least 24 hours before the second scheduled lesson.

When a refund is requested:

The cost of the first completed lesson will be deducted from the refund.
The remaining unused portion of the package will be refunded.
The completed lesson may be charged at the regular individual-lesson rate if the package included a discounted rate.
Any payment-processing fees that cannot be recovered may be deducted where permitted by law.

Once the second lesson has taken place—or is less than 24 hours away—the package will generally become nonrefundable. Build Your English Academy may consider exceptions for significant or unexpected circumstances.

Students may also request to pause or transfer their remaining lessons instead of receiving a refund. These requests will be reviewed individually.

For lessons included in a package:

A lesson canceled at least 2 hours in advance may be rescheduled without charge.
A lesson canceled with less than 2 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, will result in a charge equal to 50% of that lesson’s package value.
The remaining 50% may be returned as a lesson credit or retained in the student’s package for future use.

Group Classes

Students may cancel their enrollment in a group course and receive a full refund by providing at least 12 hours’ notice before the first scheduled class.

Once a group course has begun, completed classes are nonrefundable. If a student cancels or misses an individual group class:

At least 12 hours’ notice: No charge for the canceled class when classes are priced individually.
Less than 12 hours’ notice or no notice: The student may be charged 50% of the price allocated to that class.

If the course was prepaid, the remaining 50% may be provided as a credit or partial refund. Because group classes continue for the other students, a replacement class may not always be available.

If Build Your English Academy cancels a group class, affected students may receive a full refund or credit for that class, attend a replacement class, or transfer to another available course.

Company and Workplace Training

Companies may cancel or reschedule a workplace lesson, training session, or course without charge by providing at least 12 hours’ notice.

If a company provides less than 12 hours’ notice, Build Your English Academy may charge up to 50% of the scheduled service’s cost. The exact amount will depend on the preparation already completed, including:

Curriculum or lesson planning;
Creation of customized materials;
Employee assessments;
Travel arrangements;
Administrative work; and
Time reserved for the training.

For example, if a scheduled workplace course costs $500, the cancellation charge will not exceed $250 unless different terms were agreed upon in writing.

Build Your English Academy will determine the cancellation charge reasonably and may provide the company with an explanation of the preparation completed.

Different cancellation and refund terms may apply when stated in a company-specific service agreement, contract, or proposal. When separate written terms have been agreed upon, those terms will take priority over this general policy.

Consultations and Assessments

Free consultations do not have a monetary refund value.

A consultation or assessment may be canceled without charge by providing at least 2 hours’ notice. If a paid consultation or assessment is canceled with less than 2 hours’ notice or missed without notice, the client may be charged 50% of the scheduled price.

Fees for completed consultations, assessments, personalized learning plans, or similar one-time services are nonrefundable after the service has been delivered.

Digital and Personalized Materials

Downloadable resources, recordings, digital materials, and personalized educational materials are generally nonrefundable after they have been delivered or accessed, except where required by law.

If customized materials were created as part of a canceled company program, their preparation may be considered when determining the applicable cancellation charge.

Educational Results

Build Your English Academy is committed to providing high-quality instruction and personalized support. However, language-learning results depend on factors such as attendance, participation, practice, and individual circumstances.

Payment for instruction does not guarantee a particular test score, level of fluency, promotion, job offer, or other specific result.

Requesting a Cancellation or Refund

To cancel, reschedule, or request a refund, please contact Build Your English Academy through our website and include:

Your full name or company name;
The lesson, course, or package purchased;
The scheduled date and time; and
A brief explanation of your request.

The time at which the request is received will determine whether it meets the applicable notice period.

Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method whenever possible. Please allow 5–10 business days for the refund to appear, depending on your bank or payment provider.

Build Your English Academy reserves the right to review requests individually and make reasonable exceptions when appropriate. Nothing in this policy limits any rights available under applicable consumer-protection laws.
